CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE NATIONWIDE TURN TO CONSTANT CONTACT FOR EMAIL MARKETING BOOST
Email Marketing Service Enables Chambers to Cost-effectively Connect with Members
Waltham, MA. - August 10, 2005
Chambers of Commerce nationwide, challenged to maintain communications with members while managing tight budgets, increasingly use email as a tool to grow membership and increase local activism. More than 100 chambers currently use Constant Contact (http://www.constantcontact.com), the leading provider of Do-It-Yourself Email Marketing® for small and mid-sized businesses, for its easy-to-use, economical suite of email marketing tools.
The Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce in Lafayette, Louisiana uses Constant Contact to support member outreach efforts. Communications Director Drake Pothier, who sends weekly emails to chamber members, estimates that once content and images are in hand it takes 10 minutes to create a campaign. "We often use Constant Contact as an example to our other service providers of how their systems should work," says Pothier, a user since December 2003. "Our emails are now more professional, with better click-throughs and readability. I do 90 percent of all marketing for the Chamber with Constant Contact."
"It's really been amazing in the six months we've been using Constant Contact," says John Crawford, president and CEO of the Wyoming-Kenwood Area Chamber of Commerce. "We'll get calls at our office if we go much more than a week without issuing an email!"
The typical Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit association with a small staff, limited budget and little expertise in the intricacies of professional newsletter or direct-marketing design. Constant Contact's suite of permission-based email marketing tools includes newsletter and promotional mailing templates, as well as campaign management and email list management tools. Constant Contact also offers a custom design service, enabling its customers to cost-effectively incorporate logos, taglines and brand colors into email templates.
"Our members especially appreciate the eye-pleasing graphics and the fact that they can register directly for programs just by clicking on the links in the newsletter," comments Jim Elliott, Communication Director of the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce, Wausau, Wisconsin. Elliott uses Constant Contact to run five different types of campaigns for the chamber's members, accomplishing 50 percent of his marketing efforts with email communications.
"Associations and nonprofits can manage marketing budgets and communicate more effectively with members and customers using Constant Contact," said Richard Turcott, chief marketing officer, Constant Contact. "For as little as $15.00 - 50.00 per month, associations using Constant Contact can replace more expensive channels of communication, such as direct mail and newspaper advertising," Turcott added. "Our mission is to help these organizations grow and retain membership by providing simple, effective email marketing tools that drive loyalty and build deeper relationships with members."
